“We stumbled upon Weir Quay and the Tamar by accident and we just fell in love with the peace and beauty of the place.”

deepwater mooring Devon. Devon moorings near Plymouth

We currently have a limited availability for deepwater mooringsContact us to find out if being in the tranquility of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty just upstream of the hustle and bustle of Plymouth would suit you.

Our deepwater mooring package is competitvely priced.

Come and visit and see if you fancy a season here.  These are some comments from our customers:

“Some people go sailing to join a club and race at weekends.  I go sailing to live for a short time in a completely different timeless world and that’s why I keep my boat at Weir Quay.  I don’t have to join a club here, there aren’t any rules and it’s a long way from the bustle of marinas and city life.”

"At Weir Quay, I tell them what I want and they organise it, whether I want a new deck, a heating system, my compass repaired or some new cockpit cushions.  It is all part of the service”.

“However, long we are away for the Yard always keeps our mooring open for us.  They will even leave a dinghy on our mooring in anticipation of our arrival home, which really makes us feel welcome.”

“We stumbled upon Weir Quay and the Tamar by accident and we just fell in love with the peace and beauty of the place.”

“We have done a few crossings and a circumnavigation of the UK but we always feel relieved when we go under the Tamar Bridge in Plymouth and head for our regular mooring at Weir Quay.”

“The passage starts the moment we get on the boat. Compared to being jammed in a marina – which is essentially a car-park for yachts – we go to bed with the sound of the tide gurgling around the boat and the moon lighting up the water over towards Pentillie House. It’s an altogether lovely experience right from the beginning.”

“It really is a magical place, stunning both on the water and ashore, with plenty of walks.  We live 150 miles away, and it is important for us to know that our boat is safe and being well looked after.”

“Plymouth may be good but Weir Quay is something else!  Our all time favourite mooring, an absolute sheer indulgence, heaven.”

"It should be said how impressed I was with Weir Quay, especially with the friendly and efficient service that all of you offered. I would unhesitatingly recommend Weir Quay to any prospective customer"

“The best and most beautiful mooring location I have ever seen.”

And this from a customer who had to move his boat up to the Solent:

“The area is so full of boats I can imagine it would be almost impossible to get up the river if wind and tide were against each other. Also the Harbour Authority are very keen on charging for everything, I miss the Tamar and the freedom.
