Heard 28, 1995.

Attractive classic gaff cutter designed by Percy Dalton.   A replica of the Falmouth Working Boat, built by Gaffers & Luggers.   A massively built GRP hull on the lines of the wooden oyster dredgers, but fitted for comfortable cruising. Yanmar 3 YM 30 3 Cylinder diesel. 



Sleeps 4.  Good accommodation with spacious saloon with ‘U’ shaped seating to starboard, converts to double berth.   Linear galley opposite with ample stowage lockers and large worktop area.  Chart table and hanging locker aft.  Forward cabin with ‘V’ berth and marine toilet, pullout wash basin and locker space.

Construction & Build

Hand laid GRP. Substantial timber gunwales and hardwood rubbing strakes, marine grade plywood deck, sheathed with GRP. Timber and plywood coachroof.

Sails and spars

Gaff rigged cutter with solid timber, mast, boom and bowsprit (bowsprit new 2010). Tabernacle stepped mast. Slab reefing mainsail. Jib on Plastimo roller furling system. Staysail. Storm jib. Headsails new 2010. Cruising chute and snuffer. New standing rigging 2010.

Gear and safety

Taylors paraffin stove with two burners and oven. Jabsco mkII marine toilet. Anchor with chain and warp. Lofrans electric anchor windlass. Four Lewmar 30 self-tailing bronze sheet winches. Clock and barometer, Panasonic radio, three gimbaled paraffin lamps. Fire blanket. Manual bilge pump. Navigation lights.


Yanmar 3GM30, 3 cylinder 27hp inboard diesel engine. Shore power system; 3 batteries.


Autohelm 4000 autopilot. Icom ICM56 VHF radio. Phillips GPS. Dataline speed and distance log, echo sounder, wind speed and direction indicator, GPS. Steering compass.
